Here’s a friendly reminder with what we hope is some helpful information about year-end giving to mission workers and projects through MSC Canada. There are two ways you can give before the end of the year to ensure you receive a tax receipt – by mailing a cheque or by giving online with your credit card.
To give a one-time donation by cheque, prepare a distribution list that details who should receive the funds and send the cheque (made payable to MSC Canada) and the list to us. Letters placed in mailboxes during the last week of December may not be processed by Canada Post until January. So, if you are sending a cheque, please have your envelope postmarked by taking it to the post office to be date stamped in order to ensure that your donation is dated 2017. The cheque must be dated December 31st or earlier and the envelope must be postmarked December 31st or earlier to receive a tax receipt for this year.
To give online with your credit card or PayPal account, head to our website msccanada.org and click on give. A 3% credit card fee is added to all online donations. MSC does not receive this fee. Online donations made before midnight on December 31st will receive a tax receipt for this year. Please complete your giving five to ten minutes before midnight at the latest to ensure that it will be processed by our system before midnight.
